Code of Conduct
At Kinder K9 we require that all program participants and observers are respectful at all times. We have zero tolerance for anything perceived to be discriminatory or a form of harassment. This means that we reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to restrict any individual from the premises at any time for violating the aforementioned principles.
We require your honesty in all interactions with us. We ask you if your dog has been aggressive or fearful around dogs and/or humans in our registration form. This is to enable us to ensure that you are in the best setting to support the success of both you and your dog. Help us to help you.
Health and Wellbeing
All dogs attending group classes must be up to date on Rabies and DHP (distemper, hepatitis, parvo) - core vaccines and parasite free (Puppy class: puppies must have had their first set of vaccinations, seen by a veterinarian, and have been home with you for at least 7 days prior to the first class - puppies also do not normally receive their rabies vaccinations until 16 weeks of age).
Kinder K9 will accept titre test results accompanied by a veterinarian letter in lieu of vaccination certificates.
We recommend that your dog be current on flea and tick preventives. Other vaccinations and treatment such as Bordetella (kennel cough) and worming should be administered as recommended by your veterinarian.
We require that all dogs who come to our facility, not attend public dog parks or other places that do not require vaccines (play groups, daycares and boarding facilities - ones that do not require vaccine proof as this places everyone at risk). If you have questions regarding this policy please contact lisa@kinderk9.com for a conversation.
Dogs exhibiting diarrhea, vomiting, coughing, sneezing, lethargy, injury or any other medically concerning symptoms must not attend class under any circumstances. Please contact us as quickly as possible should your dog exhibit any of these symptoms or other illness while enrolled in classes so that we can advise other class participants of the potential exposure.
Inclement Weather Policy
In the event of severe weather, when I am not able to get into our facility, I may cancel classes and will work with you to ensure you receive either a refund (up to a maximum of the value of one group class date) or a spot in a make up class.
Marketing and Social Media Release
While attending Kinder K9, photographs or video of you, your guests and your dog(s) may be used for marketing purposes by Kinder K9. Should you wish to be excluded from media and marketing please email us at lisa@kinderk9.com with the request prior to the start of your first class with us.
Children & Youth
Humans age 10-15 are invited to attend with a parent or guardian
Humans over the age of 16 are invited to attend independently or with a guess as per the class policies
Absolutely no running or yelling will be permitted. Volume needs to be kept to a minimum to avoid distracting other students or preventing others from hearing the instructor.
Since not all dogs are comfortable around children, children should be instructed to never approach or pet any other dog in class.
Group Class Payment and Refund Policy
Because classes are limited in size, payment is due in order to hold a space in class. This prevents others from registering the space. To finalize registration and receive class information details your registration form is due as soon as possible after.
Refunds will not be provided within 7 days of the class start date. All refunds are subject to a $25 administration fee.
If a student withdraws for any reason more than 7 days prior to the class start date a refund of 50% of the class fee may be provided at the discretion of the instructor.
If due to emergency situations you are unable to attend class as scheduled, you may take the same class (or equivalent at the discretion of Kinder K9) in the future with 50% of your paid class balance going toward that class provided that a reasonable amount of time is provided to replace the held space in class.
Missed Group Class
When possible, I will attempt to offer one complimentary make up class date per group series. This will be offered at my convenience on a first come first served basis. A maximum of one private make-up session (30 minute) based on the client's availability is available for $40 should you prefer this option.
Private Training Cancellation Policy
Cancellations less than 24 hours in advanced of the scheduled appointment are not refundable.
Cancellations less than 72 hours in advance of the scheduled appointment are eligible for a 50% refund.
Cancellations made with more than 72 hours in advance of the scheduled appointment are eligible for a 100% refund.
Unforeseen Closures
Should the government of Ontario or local health authorities force us to close, our in person group classes will switch to virtual options and/or work with you to find a mutually agreeable solution.
The above policies are designed to ensure the best possible experience for those coming to Kinder K9. Failure to comply with the above policies may result in immediate removal from services without refund. If you have any concerns or questions about the above policies please call or email us today at lisa@kinderk9.com to set up an appointment so that we can speak.
